Dallas, Texas
We are chilling in Dallas for 4 days. We are staying here an extra day because of some severe thunderstorms. We have “go bags” packed if we need to go somewhere for any possible tornadoes. Thankfully, no tornadoes while we were there, but we did have some powerful storms. We explored the city, tasted some Texas BBQ, and visited a children’s museum.
My top moment at the museum was a simulation where you got to race different people or animals, like a cheetah and a track star. I raced a cheetah and got totally crushed—didn’t even come close in the same 10 seconds! This place also had an awesome climbing gym. It was like crocheted paracord hanging from the ceiling and had multiple layers. Eli and I spent a lot of time in there. Another was an exhibit all about birds. It had a bird flight simulation where it was like you flew through the air and had to collect these gold coins. It was much harder to fly than I would have thought! My favorite excursion in Dallas was a cool place called Meow Wolf. The name is a little weird, but it was awesome on the inside. You came into a house (it was all inside), and inside it looks normal, but when you look closer you will see that different places have secret passageways into big open spaces that are all themed. My favorite was the washing machine because when you open the door you see that there’s a slide. So of course we had to slide down. There was a massive tree where there are even more passageways that we can explore. Another cool passageway was when you opened the refrigerator and it opened up into a big place themed like a fridge and when you held open one of the doors it started to play music and make light patterns.
